“What’s up?” is PageRank 3 already
Just did a check on my blog’s pagerank. I was surprised that it’s pagerank 3 already! It’s just barely 3 months old. Is this true? I’m not sure. By the way, I’m quite lazy now to search and read up and the criteria that Google set for this pagerank thingy. For popular blogs such as Liewcf.com and KennySia.com are only pagerank 5. This make me even more suspicious of the rating that this blog is getting.
By the way, can anyone enlighten me on what other ranking that is use to gage a blog’s value and popularity? Thanks in advance. Here’s the PageRank checker I used. Try it to check your blog PageRank!
Lower number means lower grading in PageRank. The higher the page rank number is (i.e. 5 is higher than 3), it gets higher priority in the search engine queries.

I know that the higher number is ranked higher. I’m just now sure how that my blog get pagerank 3 only. Most probably it’s because I imported my entries from my previous blog.

blogs hosted on wordpress seem to go up in pagerank very fast. my test blog (own domain, hosted on wordpress.com), http://www.derekwong.net/ jumped to a pagerank of 3 only with 2 posts.
This is due the main WordPress.com linking into you, and well, WP.com has a pagerank of 9, so when they link you, it makes a big difference.
WP hosted on my own server at another domain kiamsiap.com only gets pagerank of 2, despite being old enough and having dedicated domain.
